OUGD102 - Collection 100. Problem Analysis - rational

Brief:
Create a travel pack to be used as a source of entertainment for travelling children.

Who needs to know?
Both, parents and children need to know as the parents will consider the product for their children, and the children will see it and want it. However it will the parent who is buying it.

What do they need to know?
That there is a package that they can get to entertain their children whilst travelling.

Why do they need to know?
To make their travel experience more entertaining

What will they respond to?
The children wil be able to use the contents of the package to entertain themselves

What research is required?
Primary: Questionnaire, asking people what they used as entertainment on different forms of transport, when they were younger. And, observing travellers and what they do for entertainment when travelling (buses, trains, car)
Secondary: Packaging/existing products/entertainment packages in different company's. Artist Research

  1. Hey just some ideas from the blog team meeting thingyo:

    - Cover could be related to type of transport each box is representing?

    - Outside design could immediately show the purpose of the pack, as if it is being sold in a serivce station potential customers may be in a rush.

    - Score sheet for in-transport games could be included with some crayons?

    - Age limits for each box?

    - Should it be aimed at kids less likely to have modern comodities such as handheld games consoles/video players? Perhaps around 4-7?
